CBSE CTET 2024 Registration: Central Teacher Eligibility Test Application Process

CBSE has officially kicked off registration for the CTET 2024 examination. Aspiring candidates can now visit its official website and register themselves. CTET 2024 Exam 

The 18th edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will take place on Sunday, January 21, 2024. This nationwide examination will be conducted in 135 cities across India, covering 20 different languages. The CTET exam consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, held in two sessions – morning and afternoon. All questions in the CBSE CTET are multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each with four options, of which one is the correct answer. Each question carries one mark, and there is no negative marking.

CTET 2024 Exam Details

The CTET 2024 exam consists of two papers:

  1. Paper I: For candidates aspiring to become teachers for classes 1 to 5.
  2. Paper II: For candidates aiming to become teachers for classes 6 to 8.

CTET 2024 Application Fees:

The application fees for CTET 2024 vary based on the category of the candidate:

For a single paper, the fees are as follows:

– General/OBC/EWS category candidates: INR 1,000

– SC/ST/PH candidates: INR 500

For both Paper I and Paper II, the fees are as follows:

– General/OBC/EWS category candidates: INR 1,200

– SC/ST/PH candidates: INR 600

Applicants can make the payment of examination fees through debit/credit cards, net banking, or by generating an e-challan.

Eligibility Criteria for CTET 2024:

To be eligible for CTET Paper 1, candidates must meet the following criteria:

– Obtain a minimum of 50% marks in the Senior Secondary Examination.

– Have completed a 2-year D.El.Ed program.

For CTET Paper 2, candidates must have:

– A Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized university.

– A minimum of 50% marks in the B.Ed program or must be pursuing it.
